I was inspired to make tons of pages with the Freckled Fawn October embellishment kit! This spread was inspired by my last journaling card standing from the cards that coordinate with the kit–a mug that says “finally fall.” I decided to use it to make a spread about the first official week of autumn this year.
I mixed the October Freckled Fawn kit with the September Kelly Purkey kit and I love the result.
- Freckled Fawn October embellishment kit: epoxy wood button stickers, Autumn cork stickers with gold foil accents, puffy heart stickers
- Freckled Fawn October 8.5×11 papers
- Freckled Fawn October journaling cards
- Kelly Purkey September 2017 Kit
- Ali Edwards precision pen
- Becky Higgins Design A and Design K pocket pages
Going on here: Everyone went to the dentist (Ava’s first time!), feeding baby T, Buffy Trivia Night with friends, getting a table cleared off for the first time in months, saving tomato seeds, Jake fixing our gate, mums coming out, big Half Price Books clearance sale.
I really liked the vivid read from the FF kit mixed in with the blues and greens from the KP kit. The olive color of the green and the blues help keep the red + green mix from feeling Christmasy.
I went with a falling leaves look with a trio of Autumn cork stickers with gold foil accents–I love adding embellishments like this to edges and trimming them off. It was also fun to spread them over multiple pockets!
When I’m embellishing cards, I look for divisions as a natural place for an embellishment to go. The divide in the two blue colors was a good home for an epoxy wood button sticker.
KP labels are always fantastic for sneaking more journaling in onto photos.
Going on here: Thursday 3 photo at Eliza’s school (parent meetings), all snuggled up, Ava loves Tierney, Jonas had a sick day and Ava doctored him up, giant book haul from the clearance sale, soccer games, Free Batman comic day (with was really free Harley Quinn comic day in celebration of the character’s 25th anniversary).
To make a 4×4 card, I combined FF heart patterned paper with a square of white cardstock. Cards with stripes are a go-to for journaling for me, though they work great as filler cards too! I used the heart card to journal a sentence about a different photo on each side of the divide.
I used my last blue / green embellishment from the Freckled Fawn kit, a puffy heart sticker, in the center of a soccer photo collage. Argyle patterns are used by our local soccer team, so that was an added bonus.
I’ve had so much fun going overboard with my kit and I still have more projects to share, though I’ll be digging into the November kit soon now!
