I was so excited to dive into the October Freckled Fawn kit (for the first time with patterned papers avalible!) that I’ve already made 10 projects using it.
I started off by making a spread for the most recent week at the time I opened up the kit.
Here’s what it looks like this month:
The October embellishment kit and individual embellishments are still avalible, but the cards and papers sold out fast! For November, you can start a subscription for the embellishment kit with journaling cards or embellishment kit with patterned paper.
The patterned papers were 8.5×11 this time, but they’ll be 12×12 starting in November!
I was excited that during this week we finally had some autumn feeling days (plus we made caramel for apples!), so I was excited to make a spread that embodied the feeling of fall.

Going on here: My friend Megan was in town for the weekend–morning with her + brunch with her and her brother Jonathan, enjoying nice weather with my baby niece Tierney, Jake + Ava take silly selfies, making I’ve Been Called Evil Caramel Sauce, Saturday soccer games for Jonas and Ava, Jonas’s Book in the Bag (library books + reading log) started during this week and it’s always a favorite.
I knew going in that I wanted to use the “autumn” card in the first spot, so that was my first step! After picking cards for the rest of the spots, I started working on the title card first. I mixed the heart card with patterned paper trimmed down to 4×4, then added the month with alpha stickers. Because this alpha didn’t have numbers, I added the date range on a label. After that I added an arrow chipboard sticker to balance out the long month and a heart sticker just for fun!
I love adding little circle embellishments to the center of collages, and epoxy button stickers were perfect for this! I used a pinwheel to bring in the pattern from a card on the other side of the page.
Going on here: Ava “teaching” me with her drawing pad, Jonas showing off a new minifig, capturing Eliza’s pre-teeny-ness, Charcoal loves me (Even after I sort of tortured him to get rid of fleas this week–discovered that the source point was the clippers we used on him when he got fleas back in 2011! The eggs had somehow gotten inside the clippers and it was a breeding ground.), Lily giving Ava love, snuggled up with all of the kids and the cat while watching Doctor Who, Jake teaching Eliza to make hemp bracelets, picking up Jonas from school with Ava in an Elsa dress, at the doctor’s office for Jonas (with Ava and baby T also, which was a challenge), tons of chocolate chip cookies for a game night with friends, Jonas with his lost front tooth, Ava switched to a different dance class day because she ended up being the only one in her original class.
I thought a fun use for the pinwheel card would be to include journaling about each photo in the collage next to it in each section!
More expoxy button stickers on this page to complete a visual triangle + lots of label stickers on a patterned card so I could fit more journaling in.
I’m so excited about the giant productivity and inspiration burst this kit gave me! I can’t wait to share the rest of the projects with you.
