Today Nerd Nest Creative Team member Emily is here to share her take on March’s Nerd Nest Challenge Repeat a Shape.
This month’s challenge was so much fun. I love patterns so I was so excited to find out that this month’s challenge was to repeat a shape. I was so inspired by Megan’s take on the challenge. I always have a hard time using resin shapes so when I saw how Megan used her resin hearts, I knew that I should use them in a Project Life layout.
I decided to document our day at Six Flags. I used Freckled Fawn’s July 2017 embellishment kit for my layout as well some Project Life cards from Dear Lizzy’s Fine and Dandy collection. I tried to coordinate the cards and the embellishments based on the colors in my photograph.
I attached the resin hearts with my Tombow Xtreme Adhesive glue runner. This glue is absolutely amazing and is so strong.
I kept this layout simple. I used the resin hearts on two different cards, added a chipboard sticker on my photo, and added a label sticker for journaling.
I definitely plan on making a few more layouts using patterns. I can’t wait to see how you all take on this month’s challenge.
