With a cascading splatter of embellishments, it’s a fun way to repeat multiple shapes on the page. This is a great sketch to use if you aren’t sure what to do with a pack or two of multiple same-shape embellishments.
Usually I pick my story first, but because I knew how I wanted the end page to look with the sketch, this time I browsed through my photos for a story that would fit the page. The story of Eliza’s and Jonas’s first day of summer school camp this year was perfect! The colors worked great with the embellishments I wanted to use and this is a story I wanted to highlight in my album with a traditional page.
The sketch has one frame around the photo, but I wanted to use a 4×6 photo, so I layered frames around the photo instead! Another way to repeat a shape! I tried to balance out the colors and shapes. I laid everything out first, then lifted the photo and carefully lifted the frames a bit to adhere a section of them that would be hidden by the photo.
Thanks to the sketch, this page came together quickly. I’m glad I got the basic details of this year’s summer school camp. It ends this week and it will all be a blur soon!
