As soon as I saw the acrylic word “adventure” in this month’s March 2017 Embellishment Kit, I knew I wanted to make a page about my kids playing at a cool climbing park for the first time!
The kit is great for travel, but you can use it for hometown adventures, exploring, and outdoor activities just as easily.
I knew I wanted to include a lot of photos on this page, tucking embellishments into corners and empty spaces, so I played around with the photo sizes on a digital 12×12 canvas before printing the photos on letter sized photo paper and cropping them–that way I knew that the layout would work!
I loved adding the title with the foam letters and using it with the journaling to create a sort of photo corner framing a photo. I also slipped in a label sticker with the date.
The wood explore chip and the heart clip were great additions to this empty space left by the photo configuration! I attached the heart clip with embroidery floss, which helped get in more of the seafoam green color of the title.
I wanted to create a visual triangle with that seafoam color, so I added a clip under the upper right photo, attached with a glue dot, to make another photo corner. Clips can be very useful for attaching things (I love them for memorabilia!), but it’s fun to use them decoratively sometimes too.
The adventure acrylic word, a line of puffy star stickers, and a strip of washi tape from an older Freckled Fawn kit finished this layout off!
If you use the March 2017 Freckled Fawn Embellishment Kit, I’d love to see how you do! What would you document with these embellishments?
