Last week I shared my take on the current Freckled Fawn sketch challenge (there’s still time to enter to win a $25 gift certificate–the challenge closes tonight!).
In addition to the 8.5×11 alteration on the sketch I did, I also worked on more sketch inspiration with two 6×12 insert pages! Today I’m sharing the pocket pages with the sketch inserts.
This first page includes Jonas’s cool Lego creation, the kids and Jake playing with the amazing Magic Tracks my mom got Jonas for his birthday, and Eliza texting me a photo of her and Jonas to confirm they’d brushed their teeth before bed (she has an out-of-service phone now and loves sending us photos and emojis through iMessage).
For this page I used a variety of Studio Calico cards, Freckled Fawn labels to add journaling onto photos and the dates onto my title cards, and vellum stickers from the February 2017 Freckled Fawn embellishment kit to add a border to my title card.
For the inserts, I made pages about the big kids’ dance classes. I interviewed each of them about what they liked about their classes–I love getting the kids’ voices in my albums and it is something I need to remind myself to do more.
To see more photos of these pages and read more about them, check out the post on Freckled Fawn’s blog here.
I finished up the spread with lots of cat snuggles photos, a selfie of Eliza and I, Jonas and his mini quadcopter, a coloring page Jake did with the kids, and our foster daughter scootering about and having ice cream on a weirdly warm day.
I’m happy to have another week in the books for 2017! Are you pocket scrapbooking this year? How is it going so far?
