This month’s challenge is to Capture a Feeling. I immediately decided that I wanted my sons to be the subject for my layout. I was able to capture my sons’ joy and excitement of playing outside. Whenever we have to go out somewhere or when we come home, my boys immediately run towards this big tree that is in front of our house. They also love playing with the leaves on the ground. I love how happy they are when they run towards the tree and how much joy they have when they play with the leaves.

Every time I see my boys play, I get hit with nostalgia. The feeling of joy is so strong when I watch my boys try to climb the tree. I remember doing the very same thing as a kid. I remember playing with leaves and making giant piles of leaves. I remember picking up the leaves and asking a million questions about why the colors on the leaves were changing and why the trees began to look bare as the leaves were falling off. I also felt a bit sad because my boys are getting older and I want them to stay little forever. A day after this photo was taken, my oldest son lost his first tooth…a sign that he is obviously getting older. Even though my boys are getting older and will one day stop trying to climb trees and play with leaves, they will always be my babies. I’m so glad that I was able to capture this picture.

For this layout, I used my Freckled Fawn October 2016 kit. I also used some patterned paper from my stash, some Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk stickers, and some heart shaped enamel stickers. Below are some close ups of my layout.
