This month’s challenge is to Try on a Different Style. I am always inspired by Adele Toomey of InkieQuill. Adele is a memory keeper and makes some awesome mixed media layouts. She often uses Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine. I have used my color shine on maybe two or three layouts and have noticed that I have not used them in a while. Since I have a couple of Halloween layouts to make, I decided to use my color shine and make somewhat mixed media layouts. My layout has a bunch of Crate Paper embellishments and I even used a bit of washi tape.
To make my layout, I simply sprayed two different color shine mists on some heavy cardstock paper. After the paper dried, I used my Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to adhere my photo onto the cardstock. Then I picked out some chipboard stickers and began to embellish the layout. I added some washi around the photo and added some journaling.
The journaling says “Since Halloween falls on a Monday, we decided to go to the Marietta Square’s Trick or Treat/Halloween celebration on Saturday. The boys has lots of fun going to all of the shops and getting treats. We also went to Six Flags and the boys got to trick or treat there as well. The boys got so many compliments on their costumes. It was such a fun day!”
Below are some close ups of the layout.
I still have a couple of layouts to make and plan to make use my color shine and other mixed media products. I can’t wait to see how you all completed this month’s challenge.
