Emily's TakeGrow Nerd Nest Challenge

Today Nerd Nest Challenges Creative Team member Emily F. is here to share her take on April’s Nerd Nest Challenge, Grow.

This month’s challenge is awesome! I love that we were given a word to interpret. There were so many different ways to go about working with this prompt. As I thought about what the word grow means to me, another word kept popping up in my head. I kept thinking about Spring. In my opinion, I think that Spring is such an amazing season and the word “Grow” goes perfectly with Spring. Everything is growing and just feels renewed. Flowers are blooming and planting are sprouting. It just seems like a new circle of life is beginning.

For my take on the challenge, I chose to make an 8.5×11 layout using my new Houseplants stamp set that I purchased over at Studio Calico. I have been obsessed with plants and florals in my projects so this was a perfect way to document my love for plants and flowers. I stamped the word “Grow” with my Freckled Fawn alpha stamp set and colored the words in. I also added some flower shaped wood veneers and stickers as well. I also colored in the stamped images and the stickers with my Distress Markers.

Supplies Used:
Studio Calico Houseplants Stamp Set by Life Love Paper
Wood Veneers
Distress Markers
Freckled Fawn Flower Stickers
