In 2013, I documented using Ali Edward’s Day in the Life concept monthly and it was one of my favorite projects ever. For the fourth year, I’m repeating the project. On the 17th of each month, I’m going to document my everyday life. I like having a set day because I won’t worry about finding a “representative” or “normal” day. Wherever the 17th falls, that’s what I’ll document. (I let a random number generator decide.)
January’s Day in the Life fell on a calm, homebody, recharging day after a busy Saturday.
I didn’t worry about capturing every little thing, I just tried to document the rhythms of the day.
It included snow, a lot of snuggling and dragging blankets around, me working, a bunch of screen time, and a little dancing. To Hamilton, of course.
I kept it simple with light embellishing (a few label stickers and a stamp added to a filler card) and chose cards from a variety of kits that lent to the wintery homey vibe of the day.
I love how this spread turned out and I’m excited about documenting with a Day in the Life each month this year!
