For this month’s challenge to Pick a Year, I’m going to be working on filling up my 2011 pocket scrapbooking albums. I decided to go back to June 2011. In 2011, I did a 365 project, so I’m able to make weekly spreads and include detailed journaling for the year.
I started to pull together this spread with the photo of JT Daniels painting live–I loved the colors in his painting, and used them to pick out Amy Tangerine, Kelly Purkey, and Freckled Fawn papers that would compliment the feel and colors of his art.
Going on here: Going to First Fridays with friends and watching JT paint live, Jake’s grandmother Mary Lou’s big birthday bash, and baby Jonas chomping on Stegosaurus Stu.
Going on here: Visiting Beth and baby Nathan, progress on the combo chair / stool I made with my grandpa, and the end of Mustache May before Jake and his brother Nick shaved (they drew one on Jonas to add to the fun).
Side note: Out of all of the silly popularity of mustache icons a few years ago, I couldn’t find a single mustache in my stash. I thought I’d put one on that smiley clip. I’ll probably find one in two months when it is useless to me.
Tip: You can cut epoxy stickers easily to use only what you need! I halved a Freckled Fawn sticker with the word “summer” and a popsicle on it so I could use the “summer” part as a tab for my journaling block and saved the popsicle half for a future project.
I’m going to have fun working on both June 2015 and June 2011 this month!
