Yesterday we were covered in a blanket of snow and today is snow day number two! We spent yesterday mostly cosyed up inside reading, crafting, cleaning, watching movies, and, in Jake’s case, working (o thankful he can work from home when the weather is bad). The kids and I also got out into the snow until we couldn’t feel our noses anymore. It was too powdery to stick together into a snow man (hopefully we’ll have better luck today!), so we made snow angels and threw snow around with shovels. Our neighbors are awesome good Samaritans and shoveled the street and the sidewalk so no one would get stuck.
My favorite tip for playing in the snow is to wear two layers (regular clothes and pajamas underneath) so the wet won’t soak through to your skin. You can then strip off the top layer on a towel laid out on the floor inside so you aren’t tracking snow through the house or standing starkers in your entryway. This is, of course, if you don’t have snow gear.
We made cookies and hot chocolate with my sister as a perfect warm up activity. And yes, Jonas stripped all of his clothes of as soon as he got inside. Even when the rest of us are huddled by a space heater with blankets, he’s running around in a pull-up. Crazy kid.
Do you live in an area covered by the crazy #snOMG? How do you make your snow days fun? If it’s summer where you are, just imagine your favorite winter activities. And tf you live in an area where it doesn’t snow, have you ever been to a snowy place? Nothing like in the movies, right?
