My One Little Word for 2014 is SAVOR.
For me, this word is all about enjoying the best things in life. To savor is to experience my moments fully, to slow down my pace, to delight in the good stuff, to relish in the bright spots, and to appreciate life is the way it is now.
I also want to let go of things that have lost their savor. I want to let go of feeling obligated to the things that aren’t meaningful to me.
The more literal meaning of savor is exciting to me too: it’s going to be a good food year, everyone! I’m starting off in January with a repeat of the best meal from 2013: brunch at the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse. You’d better bet I’m gonna savor every last bite of that. I’m looking forward to weekly farmer’s market visits again, trying new recipes and cooking techniques, and teaching the kids to cook more.
I’m looking forward to establishing a relationship with my word and letting it frame 2014 for me.
Do you have a word for 2014? How do you expect it to effect you this year?
