We hope those of you who celebrate had a happy holiday! Ours was pretty great, even though almost half of our family parties (we had seven of them planned!) were canceled due to stomach flu. Jonas, Jake, and I all had for 24 hours last week. No fun at all. But everything that was still on was amazing.
I spent a lot of time making last minute calendar gifts, which I was going to order out but ended up doing handmade because I’m a huge procrastinator. I put it together this way using a calendar template from Sweet Shoppe Designs. I put together six of them for all of the kids’ grandparents! It was a lot of work, but was well worth it.
The most fun part of Christmas morning was the Doctor Who scavenger hunt. This year was definitely the year of the Doctor, and it was fun to go on our own adventure through time and space with clues. Last year we did a Harry Potter hunt, which was the most fun thing ever, so we might make a tradition of it. Instead of a big present at the end, there were little presents at different clue stops, which took Eliza and Jonas on an adventure escaping Daleks and Cybermen through the Mesozoic era and into the future on a spaceship.
We had a great time, but I’m totally worn out today! Time to clean everything up and get ready for Jonas’s birthday, which is just around the corner. Eek!
How has your week been going? Any fun holiday stories?
