This week I’m participating in Ali Edwards’s Week in the Life, an in-depth weekly documentation project. I’m taking lots of photos and writing lots of words each day this week, focusing on a single family member each of the first four days, and then I’ll make a spread for each day to put in my Project Life album. Tuesday was all about Jonas.
Jonas woke up this morning and came straight in to snuggle us.
Jonas ate breakfast (cereal and juice), then we snuggled more after we sent Jake and Eliza off. Jonas watched Mickey Mouse: the Prince and the Pauper while I did some work. (Side note: he LOVES when we use the self timer.)
He had his second breakfast (hobbit) of apples and peanut butter then played with clay while I cleaned out a closet.
Jonas helped Paul get ready for work. He’s a semi-professional mini hairdresser.
Then some coloring on the white board. He also helped me clean; he thinks magic erasers are fun.
And playing with Ava. She was grouchy, so he showed her toys and “read” her books to try to make her happy.
After pizza for lunch, he took a nap at about 1:30. And no, he’s still not dressed. It’s super hot out, and he’s been living in a pull-up while inside.
He has to have six items before going to sleep: brown B, pink B, blue B, big B, bear, and Brobee pillow. He has a system. It’s adorable.
He woke up from his nap happy and adorable. After running around a bunch, he came to snuggle me while I was feeding Ava. He buts in and says, “Mama, you have TWO babies!” No one in this house can get snuggles without him.
After Ava went home, Jonas and Eliza played with a cool Glow Board. (Photo by Eliza.)
Eliza taught him what to do and he thought his masterpiece was so cool.
Then he and Eliza ran around like crazy. He put on my helmet and walked around saying, “Who turned out the lights?” Because my two year old is awesome and quotes obscure Doctor Who episodes.
Jake brought Chipotle home and we ate on TV trays and watched an episode of Doctor Who. I prefer family meals at the table, but this is nice a few times a week when I’m wiped. He spent some of the episode snuggling and watching it, but most of it running around, playing, and climbing on people. (Photo by Eliza.)
I grabbed a photo of all of the books I read to Jonas today. Some were pre-dinner, some were afterwards. He picked them all out.
Then kisses goodnight; a little later than usual today at 8:30 or so. Goodnight Jonas!
That’s a day in Jonas’s life! Today will be all about me.
