I’m all prepped and ready for September 1 with my 30 Days of Lists base! (If you’re not familiar with #30Lists, check out the current giveaway for more info so you know what the heck I’m talking about.)
To make my base pages, I combined Rukristin #30Lists Kit (it’s a minibook kit; but I requested the 3×4 cards without holes) and the Midnight Project Life Kit. I love that the colors are mostly neutral (black and white with a bit of yellow), so I know that these will coordinate well as inserts in the middle of my weekly spreads all through September. I put the cards in Studio Calico 3 pocket 6×8 and Studio Calico 4 pocket 6×8 page protectors. Unfortunately, the holes don’t fit in Project Life albums, so I had to expand the holes with scissors to make it fit. That’s no big deal, but it made the whole process take much longer.
I’m keeping these base pages super simple, so all I have to do is write come September. I’m expecting a busy month, what with Project Life Lessons, the Big Idea Festival, being a #30Lists ambassador, Week in the Life, and everyday stuff like Eliza’s Fall soccer starting. I’m sure I’m not the only one with an overwhelming looking September, so this is a reminder to make your work fit your life and go simple when needed!
Because these are Project Life inserts, I made sure to look at my calendar before building the base pages. September 1 is on a Sunday, and my spreads this year are from Monday-Sunday, so I knew I’d have one insert with just 1 list. I decided to leave room for an explanation of what #30Lists is on the first page, along with the space for the first list. I might change out some of the cards as I work, putting in photos or filler cards as needed, but my goal for the base was to leave plenty of room for list titles and words.
I filled up the back of the insert with three Rukristin Currently Cards, because they match, they’re lists, and I love having the info in there for different family members from time to time.
On the right you’ll see the page with #2 and #3. I decided to have two inserts for each full listing week, so I’d have plenty of room if I needed more space than just the number card. I put the first one in low and the second in high, so together they look like a 6×12 insert.
That’s it! Super simple, but good lookin’ too. I’m excited to start filling these up!
