Week 20: June 13-19

This week was full of everyday stuff (lots of Instagrams), a bit about our home, a lovey-dovey Megan + Jake insert (also about an app), and Jake’s little sister’s and little brother’s graduation parties.
I decided to skip the kits and stick mostly with patterned papers from my stash, partially because my scrap pile was stacking up and partially because I knew I’d be working with a lot of purple, which the kits I have don’t really coordinate with (though I totally could have gone with neutrals).
Left Side: All Instagrams and everyday stuff.
The main paper used on this page is Dear Lizzy, Noteworthy. I love the bold multicolored chevron on the front and the notebook-style paper on the back! I really love patterns, but it’s paper I can write on that gets used the most. So a good “B side” side is key for me.
The “No Day But Today” card is from the May / June Kelly Purkey Project Life kit, which is no longer available, but, good news, the pre-order for the Kelly Purkey August / September Project Life Kit is open now! The sneak peek looks amazing. The number stamps I used were from the May / June kit too, which I used with metallic ink from the Tsukineko Planetarium pack.
To get in quick descriptions of what’s going on in the photos, I stamped a number on each photo and wrote a corresponding description for each photo.
I was able to add in more text by using some leftover trimmed page protector to add in a flip pocket. It’s held down with a Magenta Freckled Fawn Arrow Clip.
Insert 1, Front: This insert was for Project Real Life Redo | Week 7 (you can read all of the text in that post).
Flip pocket for more journaling here too.
Insert 1, Back: More project real life stuff. Those Kelly Purkey White Letter Stickers I used for the “home” sentence (and throughout the layout) are my favorite thing. I bought four packs and have used them on pretty much every project since I’ve had them.
Insert 2, Front: This small layout is about Jake and I, and since I didn’t have a photo of us together from this week, I chose two random photos of each of us to put side by side instead. We had discovered Say the Same Thing app, which I discovered on Cathy Zielske’s blog, and got a little obsessed.
We were pretty proud that we “said the same thing” on round 2 nine times in a row (how’s that for a winning streak) because we are SO on the same wavelength.
Insert 2, Back: Jake’s little brother and sister had their graduation parties and I picked a few photos from each to celebrate them. We’re so proud!
Right Side: Our crazy Saturday.
I wrote about how everything we did Saturday was (Eliza’s soccer game, Savannah’s grad party, Corbin’s grad party, then my dad’s birthday party. Ahhh!
A little bit of #jonasishere
And plenty of awesome photos of Jake’s family: Jake’s dad, his grandparents, his older brother Nick, Krista, and our future niece! We also included Corbin’s graduation photos. (Jake took Savannah’s graduation photos, so they’re in the album earlier in the year.)
Love this week and love this project! Do you ever just stick with your stash for Project Life, or do you prefer sticking with kits?
