My Advice to You // Advice to Children Challenge by Megan Anderson

The challenge over at Document Life Workshop this week is to document Advice to Children. You can take the challenge on and document advice to any kids (or all kids!), but I took this as an opportunity to write a letter to mine.

I used digital brushes by Ali Edwards as a sort of jumping off point to create sentences, which I painted freehand using mist. To use mist as ink in this way, just screw off the spray cap and dip your paint brush directly in! My advice was: “GO follow your heart // LOVE openly and fully // GO fight injustice // GO be you // LOVE what you do // GO be a force for good”

I added journaling to expand on what I meant by each piece of advice. It’s my hope that my kids live this advice, and I hope they’ll love having this page from me as a reminder.

Go check out what the DLW team made!
