We finally got the pot holding sculpture Poppy made painted! He made it years ago for my grandma before she died, and it was mauve and getting a little bit of rust. We scrubbed it down and spray painted it black.
That’s what it looked like before.
We really love the new look! It’ll be there forever and ever.
We now have too many herbs to fit in the sculpture. They line the steps to our front porch. And I’m planning on grabbing even more this weekend.
(Jonas dressed himself.)
Our sage bush from last year is going strong in the ground.
And we took the kale we’ve been growing in pots out and put them in the ground. Because we are going too herb crazy to dedicate four herb spots to kale! I dug some more bricks out of our backyard (there was a walkway back there once upon a time) and Eliza and I stacked ‘em up to create a tiny raised bed next to our house in our backyard. So this is just through the gate from the herbs. I was going to put them in the front with the tomatoes and strawberries, but I read up first and they don’t like being planted near those! Plus, they’ll need more shade as it gets hotter.
Next up: working on making the front porch nicer, since we’re spending so much time out there. I’m feeling super inspired by Elsie’s Front Porch. Hopefully this won’t take as long as getting this sculpture painted did, but as our porch decorating budget is zero, it might take forever.
