Finish Strong using Handmade Stamps by Megan Anderson

I have a three-birds-with-one-stone layout for you today! This layout uses a background paper I made for a Document Life Workshop tutorial, a journaling technique assignment from the Grammer Free Journaling Workshop, and is documenting my One Little Word. And I love it.

I made the background for this page with a handmade stamp, and the title uses a handmade stamp too! Learn how to make your own chevron stamp over on Document Life Workshop!

I’m really excited about my progress with yoga, and documenting the milestones is really helping keep me motivated. This week, I was doing cartwheels because I can finally do what was one of the most impossible seeming poses for me: camel pose. It’s not perfect, but I can touch my heels. And my calves are not on fire. Win.

The journaling for this page was inspired by the Grammer Free Workshop taught by Angie Lucas, which I’m taking c/o Big Picture Classes. The journaling technique is “Pain Free Poetry,” and I thought the technique was perfect to describe how I’m feeling about yoga right now. Here’s what the journaling reads:

Blood rushing, the snap crackle pop of my joints. stretching. reaching. breathing deep. Everytime a little farther, a little better. I can touch my toes, my heels, the stars. Milestone after milestone. I walk deeper down this path daily. I will finish this year strong.

It’s not the best thing I’ve ever written (and, if I’m being honest, I’m at least a little embarrassed to share it), but I like that it captures how I’m feeling about FINISH strong so far in a very uninhibited way. And I love that.

How do you document personal milestones?
