Week 4: January 21-27.

This week contains coming home from our Denver trip and lots of great everyday stuff.
Left side: This page is mostly all about heading home from Denver. Jake took a photo of Jessica and me before we left, and we made sure to capture rural Kansas on the way home. I also included a Martin Luthar King quote card I designed from the February Documentation Cards freebie (half of those cards are by Allie). We usually actively celebrate Martin Luthar King Day by going to community events, so I was a bit disappointed to be in the car all day.
Also included, half of the color Currently cards I shared during the Currently Blog Hop. I love that every family member filled out one for the week. (Except for Jonas. We obviously had to fill out his.)
Of note: This week is full of photos and a lot of neutral colors, so I included pops of green throughout the spread to draw the eye around. Also, you may have noticed that I’m over numbering my weeks in the book this year. Just the date range is fine. That space is better used for journaling!
Insert #1, Side 1: Just the rest of the Currently cards and Jake and Eliza at the grocery store. We all go together about half of the time, probably, and the kids love Trader Joe’s. The photo I took of the photo of Eliza doesn’t do it justice; in real life her eyes are so pretty in the photo.
Of note: I cut a Design A page protector in half for another spread, so I had half of a page protector, with no holes, left over. I slipped it in an American Crafts 6 x 12 page protector, so I can have the pockets on just this side of an insert. I know it’s weird to slip a page protector inside a page protector, but it was easier than trying to get the rest of the currently cards to look balanced.
Insert #1, Side 2: Sleepy Jonas, journaling for the next page.
Insert #2, Side 1: Big everyday collage. Jonas dragging his “B”s with him after he wakes up, Eliza reading, Jonas photobombing my self-timed photo with a ball, our new-to-us couch, Jonas cooking a ball, hanging out at my grandpa’s with my mom, Jonas dressing himself in a pull-up and rain boots, Jake making wands for E’s party, the kids serenading everyone at Jake’s Dad’s house.
Insert #2, Side 2: Exercise insert. I’ve been making an effort to exercise more since November, but this week was like flipping a switch and finding my groove. During this week, I started daily yoga (with the Gaiam Yoga For Beginners Kit, recommended to me by Kam). Also, I took Jake to work one day so the kids and I could swim with the kids / run on the treadmill at the company gym (we only have one car). I can’t wait until it warms up enough to run outside. Expect a full post on this stuff soon.
Of note: The “This Week” card went out as a freebie with the Document Life Workshop newsletter. If you haven’t signed up already, do it so you won’t miss out next time!
I forgot to edit my iPhone photos to 4 x 6, so they had white boarders. I cut them off and added some subtle patterned paper.
Right side: Our friends Amy and Nikole bought one of our favorite coffeeshops, City Market Coffee, and Jonas and I went to visit. My mom and sister came to visit. Jonas is obsessed with lapping our first floor in his fancy tricycle.
P.S. I use a my custom Blurb planner, which can start and end at any date, to keep track of my journaling for Project Life, so I have rich text even when I get “behind”. I wanted to tip you to this Blurb Flash Sale for 25% off from now until Monday, February 25 using discount code: FLASH25OFF
