Ice Skating

A foot of snow fell last week and another foot fell here in Kansas City last night, but luckily it slowed down and the roads were cleared off enough for us to go ice skating on Saturday! Even little Jonas went. It was so SO exhausting (because it was ICE SKATING WITH A TODDLER), but it was also super fun.

*No Jonases were harmed in the taking of this picture. He’s mad he has to stay still for the picture. He wants to go go go!

Ice Skating

We went to our go-to ice skating place, Crown Center Ice Terrace. I took Eliza with my sister last year, and she REALLY wanted to go again.

The occasion was actually Jake’s brother Corbin’s 18th birthday! He and his girlfriend Katie are super adorable together. Also, love that he’s a teenager and wanted to go ice skating with his family for his birthday. Because he’s awesome.

Jake loved using his Olloclip Lens to take videos of us skating with his iPhone. I’m much more graceful without pockets full of diapers and mittens and an Eliza hanging off of me, I promise.

I’m so proud of Eliza. She started off hanging onto a person / the walls, but was skating by herself in the middle by the end of our ice skating session. She’s amazing.

After skating, we went across the street to get pizza with Jake’s parents, brother, and Katie. Jonas was exhausting.

Unrelated but super cute: Jonas danced in puddles before dinner. Jake didn’t want to let Jonas dance in the puddle, but I thought it was cute. Then he fell in after this video, and we had to try to dry his pants on a hand dryer in the bathroom. So Jake won that one. But, seriously, how cute is this video? It’s worth the damp-Jonas risk.

That was our weekend adventure! Have you been on any adventures lately?
