Tuesday | Pizzas made with this dough recipe and Hclappy’s sauce recipe
Wednesday | Cauliflower quiche
Thursday | Cream cheese and bacon hamburgers with homemade buns
Friday | Veggie samosas

Other | Sausage and pepper sandwiches from this cookbook (for lunch)

The Reality

Saturday | Chicken Tikka Masala leftovers
Sunday | Bruschetta and tortellini alfredo
Monday | Stuffed chicken marsala (copycat of Olive Garden’s)
Tuesday | d’Bronx pizza
Wednesday | McDonald’s for Jake and the kids (gasp!) and leftovers for me
Thursday | Cauliflower quiche
Friday | Cheeseburgers with homemade buns

Other | Brat, swiss, and mushroom sandwiches, altered from this cookbook (for lunch) and Succotash for brunch

Succotash

Saturday morning we went and had brunch with our friends at Succotash after a sleepover. (Love that our friends crash at our house and don’t drink and drive. If you did a double take, yes, Jake and I don’t drink, but people do drink at our house.) We’ve already talked about our love of Succotash, so we don’t need to say anything more. Other than it’s now Paul and Jessica approved too.

Jonas, climbing all over everyone. @paulnyakatura @jgut87

Our friends all love Chicken Tikka Masala, so they voted for leftovers over going out or cooking something new.

Bruschetta and Tortellini

Sunday we made bruschetta and tortellini. The bruschetta was amazing (bread, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, baby mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, broil until the cheese is melted). The tortellini was not. It happens. User error.

Chicken Marsala

Monday Jessica and I were at the gym until late, so Jake and the kids had macaroni and cheese and chicken strips. Not because Jake can’t cook without me, but because he loves fake food and can get away with eating no vegetables if I’m not home. Jessica and I made stuffed chicken marsala (copycat of Olive Garden’s). It’s amazing. I could drink the wine reduction sauce. I think that I’ve altered the recipe enough from the recipes I’ve stolen from to warrant a recipe share in the near future.

d'Bronx

Tuesday my sadness that Jessica left to go back to Denver could only be cured by delicious, delicious pizza from d’Bronx pizza. We got a chef salad to share, too. Their ranch dressing the the best.

McDonald's

Wednesday the kids and I picked Jake up from work (we’re a one car family) so I could swim laps at his company gym. He and the kids went to McDonalds while I exercised (ironic) and then I had leftovers after I got home. Fast food (other than Chipotle) is really really rare for us, so the kids were over the moon about it.

Cauliflower Quiche + Brussels Sprouts

Thursday we had Cauliflower quiche and brussels sprouts. Veggie packed and oh-so-good. Even I’m-not-eating-anything-but-cheese-and-crackers Jonas ate all of his (I hate this toddler food phase).

Hamburgers

Friday we made cheeseburgers with homemade buns. Homemade buns are the best thing that could happen to a hamburger. Love it.

Here’s what this week has been looking / will sort of look like. We’re going with a lot of stand-bys and easy stuff because this time of year is crazy around here. We’ll pick up our one-new-recipe-a-week thing again in January:

The Plan

Saturday | Frozen pizza
Sunday | Veggie samosas
Monday | Tequila lime chicken
Tuesday | Pizzas made with this dough recipe and Hclappy’s sauce recipe
Wednesday | Fajitas from this cookbook
Thursday | Caribbean jerk wraps
Friday | Frozen orange chicken and fried rice

Other | Sausage and pepper sandwiches from this cookbook (for lunch)
