At the beginning of every month, we post a challenge for ourselves and you! At the end of the month, in theory, we’ll post our completed project(s) and will have a link-up for you to share yours! The projects can be interpreted in any way you want. Interpret our challenge to do a project in crafts, photography, creative writing, home decor, technical gadgetry, cooking, or whatever you can come up with.
This month we challenge you to do something daily! Daily projects are the best way to get into the habit of doing something you love. And, we’ll be honest, we’re only making this the challenge for the month because we’re already doing tons of daily projects for December and don’t want to add anything else to our plates.
Here are the daily things going down around here in December:
The main everyday focus for December for me will be daily documentation. The December edition of my Daily Doc | December 2012 workshop starts today, and I’ll be posting documentation there TWICE daily. Once a day I’m posting documentation from the prompt handout that comes with the workshop, and once a day I’ll post random unplanned documentation. And there are documentation tips everyday too. How’s that for daily? I’m really excited about it. The (free) November edition went really well and I can’t wait to see other’s documentation for December! There’s still time to register if you’re interested in joining in and if you’ve been along for the ride for the November workshop, it’s not over yet! I’m still going to pop in to show you what I did with all of that November documentation.
Also happening daily in December: I’m following along with Elise Blaha Cripe’s #mileaday project. The challenge is to run a mile everyday, but I’m swimming some of them. Because I love swimming laps. And, in case you’re wondering, I’ve been doing it since the day after Thanksgiving and I still can’t actually run a mile (I have to walk part of it). You can see the daily photos of my feet on Twitter or Instagram @Megan_NerdNest
Because the crazy daily documentation for Daily Doc isn’t enough, I’m doing a December Daily album too. This is a project to document December. It’s the brainchild of Ali Edwards and I’ve been doing it since 2009 (you can see my past DDs here). I was planning on sharing the album base by now, but woodburning the cover is taking longer than expected. (I used Ali’s Holiday Word Art Vol. 2 for the cover.)

And, last but not least, we’ll be doing Eliza’s Ornament a Day project this year again! But she’s sick today, so we might have to start that tomorrow.
Yes, that’s a crazy amount of daily stuff. Here’s my secret to doing daily projects: don’t freak out if you miss a day! That’s not the point. The point is doing it and doing it more! Just skip the day you missed or double up the next day and move on.
And if you’re doing December Daily and feel behind, just remember that if you focus on the documentation you can always go back and do the scrapbooking later!
What project are you going to do daily in December?
