Here’s a peak into what’s been going in my December Daily since I shared my December Daily base. I’ve been keeping it simple, going with a hybrid combo of a bit of digital stuff (Ali Edwards Journaling Cards and Christmas Papers from the Lilypad) and physical stuff (leftovers from my December Daily bag of tricks from last year and papers from My Mind’s Eye, which I scored for super cheap at the Deal-a-Day site Peachy Cheap). Loving this 8.5 x 11 size. It’s making this super easy. I barely have to cut anything!
Everything on Day 1 is digital, except for the journaling and the number. I thought the writing would take up more space, but it ended up looking very unbalanced. Instead of finding more to write, throwing on embellishments, or leaving it unbalanced, I decided to use the bottom of the page for Day 2. I printed that strip of photos and a journaling card off with a few other photos for the other days. I always intend to do this daily, but I like doing it in chunks better so I can make collages and use up a whole 8.5 x 11 photo page before I print (so I don’t waste paper).
Day 3 is about the beginning of our string of sick days. This is just background paper + a photo + a journaling card + the embossed day number. Simple, simple.
Day 4 tells the story of my Mom & sister coming over to save the day and watch the kids while I was super sick. I’m loving the mix of black and white and color photos. Also, those strips of patterned paper are digital: I printed them off to take up some extra space on the photo paper.
Day 5 is Eliza’s letter to Santa + a picture she drew for him. I had her write on some pretty lined Christmas paper, which she helped pick. I just finished up the page without any extra words or photos with a strip of washi tape and the number of the day.
That adorable wish list says: Barbie dresser and Barbie, a microphone, all the movies of Harry Potter, and a notebook. Love Eliza.
It’s already shaping up to be my favorite December Daily ever. Are you doing December Daily? How is it going?
