Posting a ridiculous amount of Project Life spreads this week, as I got several weeks worth of photos at once using Persnickety Prints to save on shipping. I’ll be back to home printing after this run.
To prevent myself from getting overwhelmed with several PL weeks all at once, I organized all of my photos weekly (put the ones I wanted to print in a folder / made any photo collages I needed to make) and drew sketches of spreads, writing down which style of page protectors I was going to use and where the photos and journaling would go. When I got my photos in the mail, I slipped them all in according to my sketches, that way I only have to put in journaling / embellishments to finish the weeks off.
This week is filled with all sorts of awesomeness, and I had two inserts to fit all of the cuteness in.
The first page documents the first pretty autumn trees, the launch of Document Life Workshop, Matt hanging out with the kids so Jake and I could finish the DLW coding, and Instagram collages, which I’ve been doing pretty much every week since I started using Instagram.
That “Love” card is from Allie’s Everyday Journaling Cards, which you received free if you subscribed to the Document Life Workshop newsletter early on, but you can buy them now here! I got them all printed on cardstock and cut them out.
The first little insert has an awesome hand-printed card from my friend from across the pond, Lizzie. I bought an awesome bicycles notebook from her her shop, which has the most beautiful hand-bound books on the planet, and she sent me amazing extra goodies and a sweet note!
I taped a tiny photo of the awesome stuff she sent to the outside of the page protector and added a bit of journaling on the back so you can lift it up to see it.
I also taped her business cards to the back of the page protector, because they’re so pretty.
The second insert has an 8.5 x 11 digital page I made with Allie’s free Fall in Love kit. There’s more about this page in my Making Sketches Work for You post on Document Life Workshop. It focuses on Painted Suitcase project.
More words + a date night.
I didn’t have another page for the back of the 8.5 x 11 page, so I used the space for extra words. I added a story directly from a Randomly Right now post, a bit about the car trouble we had this week, and a bit more about Document Life Workshop.
The last page is all dedicated to a date night. The kids spent the night with “Abba and Grandpa Timmy”. I love that “bye” photo from Jonas and the picture of the kids leaving. Then some photos from a date night. We didn’t have our good camera, but I blew up the crummy Instagram photos anyway.
There are some great elements on there from this free kit from Persnickety Prints and Designer House Digital, too. That 4×6 is like it’s own little hybrid page.
