Nerd Nest Monthly Project Challenge

At the beginning of every month, we post a challenge for ourselves and you! At the end of the month, in theory, we’ll post our completed project(s) and will have a link-up for you to share yours! The projects can be interpreted in any way you want. Interpret our challenge to do a project in crafts, photography, creative writing, home decor, technical gadgetry, cooking, or whatever you can come up with.

August Project Challenge

The August Challenge was to participate in our friend Allie‘s Craft Olympics.

Because of the car totaling, we’ve switched our focus to money-making ventures and thus didn’t get a whole lot of grown-up entries done.

Chalkboard Spice Containers

We did manage to get our Paint entry done, though, with this DIY Chalkboard Spice Container project.

Though Jake and I were slacking, Eliza was amazing this month. She completed ALL of the Craft Olympic challenges!

Eliza's Nature Book

Eliza’s take on the Best Use of Paper challenge was a Nature Book

Eliza Learns to Program

For the Best Use of Digital challenge, Eliza made her First Ever Computer Program.

Eliza's Jackson Pollock Inspired Painting

E nailed Best Use of Paint with her Jackson Pollock Inspired Painting.

Eliza's Ornate Frame Necklace Holder

For the Recycled Material challenge, Eliza’s entry was an awesome Ornate Frame Necklace Holder.

Eliza's Pattern Bracelet

And E’s Pattern entry was a cool Pattern Bracelet.

I’m so proud of Eliza for completing all of these challenges! Her creativity shines. It was a great way to finish off the summer: there wasn’t a boring day around here, that’s for sure. She’s working on a couple more projects now, but it’s slower going now that she’s back in school.
