Google Fiber is coming to Kansas City. Better yet, it’s here. And it’s right outside our door. Literally.
Google is laying a fiber optic network in our city and in our NEIGHBORHOOD!
What does that mean? Why are we so excited? Only because in a very short while, our Internet will be about 100 times faster than yours. Probably. Unless you live in a cooler country than ours.
Google is using Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO as guinea pigs to build infrastructure for ultra high speed broadband. This will be the first such network in the US, and bring us up to speed with countries that already have large scale fiber optic networks, like Japan and Finland. We knew that construction had begun, we just didn’t expect it to be literally outside of our door so soon.
We are so excited to see that construction is underway and can’t wait to sign up and sign on at the end of the year when the services are available!
