Foodie Diva

Now that I feel I have a handle on working the rhythm of Project Life into my schedule, I’m ready to start trowing some traditional scrapbook layouts into the mix. I’m inserting regular layouts right into my Project Life album at the end of each month before the next month’s cover page. That sounds complicated, but I’m glad I found a way to work in non-PL stuff into the album early on instead of trying to figure it out later.

PL focuses more on the stuff we do, I want the layouts to focus on things that I might miss with PL, like personality traits, relationships, rituals, ongoing behaviors, or events that span longer than a week. This layout is about Jonas’s food habits over the past three months. It’s something that’s funny and deserves documentation, but didn’t really fit well into Project Life.

Foodie Diva

I’ve been dying to create a double page 8.5 x 11 layout featuring a full page photo since Ali Edwards posted this page on her blog. I love this photo of Jonas with food all over his face and a chip on his head, so I loved the idea of enlarging it and using a completely different page for journaling so I had room to include a lot of words.

We call Jonas a “Foodie Diva” because he loves fancy food. Notice that I wasn’t afraid to get a little girly with the supplies even though this is a boy page. It goes with the diva and food theme, so I’m not worried about it not being masculine enough.

Foodie Diva

Journaling | Jonas is a picky eater, but he’s not your typical 1 year old when it comes to food. He won’t eat veggies on their own or normal things like applesauce. The only thing he eats with a single ingredient is bananas. But ratatouille, frittata, quinoa, quiche, souffle, risotto, carbonara? Count him in. He doesn’t love it unless it took an hour or three to make. He likes some normal stuff, but he’s all about the fancy. He’s our food diva. If it isn’t fancy, it becomes a hat.
