Happy Easter to those who celebrate! It’s been a great one around here so far. We dyed eggs last night and had a visit from a special bunny this morning.

We read over on Hey Jen Renee that you can die eggs with Kool-Aid. Sold!

Kool-Aid + 2/3 cup water. That’s it! Man, that fruity smell beats gross vinegar any day.

We got a little extra fancy by wrapping rubber bands around some of the eggs.

Eliza is very serious about crafting.

Drying in a muffin tin.

E drew on some with crayons before dipping them too.

How pretty are those?!? I think we’re going to do it this way every year.

The kids woke us up promptly at 7:30 AM this morning (which is strange, they usually sleep in a bit on weekends). Eliza had already found most of the eggs before we’d even gotten out of bed. She had to re-hide some for Jonas. She left her Easter basket alone until we could take pictures though. That girl knows how to blog. We’ve trained her well.

Stickers, pencils, erasers, a bit of candy for Eliza and a fancy bunny book for Jonas. E noticed the Easter Bunny shops at Trader Joe’s. Not much is getting past that one.

I look lovely in the morning, don’t I? Hah!

Jonas, the little bugger, couldn’t figure out how to open the plastic eggs, but he knew there was candy inside. So he waited until we were on the other side of the room from him, threw an egg on the ground and started going at the jelly beans (which had scattered everywhere, of course). When we came at him, he hurried and stuffed a whole handful in his mouth. He’s crafty too, just in a different way.

Now the last of the eggs have been found (except for the one in the toilet paper roll), we’re relaxing until we have a spree of cooking and cleaning after Jonas’s nap. We usually have big extended family parties, but no one’s really doing anything this year. So we’re having our moms (who are both single, our dads are re-married) and our sisters over for dinner. It should be a blast!
What are you doing today?
