Welcome to Week 9 of Project Life! I’m still loving this project so much. I love that I can take such a carefree approach to it. This week has almost 40 photos and very little embellishment. Some weeks the opposite has been true. This week I used a lot more digital elements, other weeks I won’t use digital elements at all (except for the photos). I like that I’m not worried about consistency week to week. I’m just enjoying the process and getting the stories told.

This week’s PL was mostly dedicated to the big Jessica weekend (read about it here, here, here, and here). Instead of focusing on the whole week, this spread is mostly dedicated to three days. Totally fine with that.
The left page mostly deals with last Friday, when the girls and I went to First Fridays and went out on the town. The beautiful beautiful art work is by my friend JT, who had his first big gallery show.
I realized too late that I double printed one of the photos. The one in the center is also on the first side of the insert. Instead of wasting it, I decided to use it as a background for the adventure sticker.
The only bit this week that is not Jessica weekend related is this part about Jonas being sick. Most of the Jonas sickness story is in Week 8, but he went to the doctor this week and I included a little bit about that. I used some of his medicine instructions in there.
I knew I wanted to cram tons of photos and words from the weekend into this spread, so I included 8.5×11 digital scrapbook pages as inserts for Friday and Saturday. For 8.5×11 inserts, I just use cheap page protectors from Office Max. Probably not archival safe, and definatley not as high a quality as the thick protectors made by scrapbooking brands, but they’ll do for now.
I went a little bit hybrid with the Friday page by adding a few stickers, but the page is mostly just journaling lifted from the blog and edited a bit for length, a photo collage, two lines, and the day of the week.
I repeated this design for Saturday and filled the right page protector with photos from Saturday as well. I also included a bit about Sunday and mimicked the 8.5×11 design in a 4×6 slot.
I love all of these photos of our friends so much. The design for this is the same as the design for Friday, the only differences are the absence of stickers and the bold “Best. Day. Ever.” words. I also squeezed a ton more photos onto this page.
For the right side I tried to use my favorite shots as well as include as many of the people who were there as possible.
There’s the Sunday journaling, mimicking the insert design.
And the one bit on this page that uses scrapbooking materials. I forgot to add anything much about our weekend trip to the dentist, so I’ll probably go back and include a bit on the above card about our dental experience.
Every time I create a new weekly spread in my Project Life album, it becomes my favorite. Week 10, you’ve got some big shoes to fill.
