Or something like her. The only purpose of this post is to brag, but I’m super proud of myself. Side note first:
If you’ve been around for awhile, you’ll remember that Jake’s brother Nick lived with us from March 2011 to November 2011. Our house has five “bedrooms”: three on the second floor and two “bedrooms” without closets in the finished attic. That’s one of the main reasons we chose this house: it will be able to fit our goal number of 5 kids inside
Before Nick moved in, we realized that Nick’s bed was full sized and wouldn’t fit through the little door leading up to the 3rd floor. Jonas was an itty bitty baby at the time, so we moved Nick into Jonas’s room and moved Jonas into the master bedroom with us. When Jonas started sleeping through the night, we wanted him to have his own room so that Jake and I could… spend more time together. So we moved Eliza to the 3rd floor and moved Jonas into Eliza’s room.
When Nick moved out, we moved Eliza into Nick’s old room (aka Jonas’s old room) because the 3rd floor is difficult and expensive to temperature control. Nick left his bed when he moved out and we didn’t know what to do with the it, so Eliza’s been sleeping in Nick’s old bed since November. This wasn’t a big deal, but it meant that a lot of her stuff had to stay on the third floor because the full size bed took up too much space in the room. Bigger deal: this meant that I couldn’t decorate the room until E’s actual bed was moved.
Yesterday I decided to take action. I carried/slid the full size mattress set from the second floor out to the curb by myself and put it under “free stuff” on Craigslist. I took apart Nick’s bed frame and carried it to the basement, where it will stay until Jonas is big enough for it. I took apart Eliza’s trundle bed on the 3rd floor and reassembled it on the second floor (I left the trundle part on the 3rd floor as a guest bed). I rearranged Eliza’s room and brought most of her stuff down. All by myself. I felt super human and more than a little awesome.
I can’t wait to hang shelves and pictures next week!
What awesome feat have you accomplished lately?
