Welcome to Week 7 of Project Life! I’m still loving this project so much – I look forward to it every week. I love getting things done real time, I love that I can get several layouts worth of subjects into one spread (with inserts, which I can’t seem to stop using), and I love that it gets memory keeping back into the regular rhythm of my life.
The left page and first insert focuses on our snow day and Valentine’s Day.
Page one starts with us playing in the snow. Jonas looked so cute all wrapped up – like that kid in A Christmas Story. He could barely move. And I love that photo of Eliza. You can see the joy in her eyes!
The rest of the page goes over our Valentine’s Day.
There are all sorts of extra ways to include journaling, and I got a ton on this page! I just wrote directly on the middle left photo with the Smash pen (linked below). Writing in the negative space of your photos is a great way to fit in journaling! There’s also extra journaling on the inside of the pocket on the bottom left. I might cut the page protector later so that the journaling on it is more accessible.
For the first insert, I cut down a 12×12 We R Memory Keepers page protector. It originally had 9 4×4 pockets, but I like the inserts to be smaller than 12×12 so it’s more clear where the week starts and stops. This insert is devoted to the Valentines Eliza got at school. I put some patterned paper behind them when needed.
Turn the first insert and there’s the rest of E’s valentines, the front of the second insert (staring Mr. Jonas) and a peak into the right page.
On the back side of the valentines insert, I cut down the cards that Poppy got us to include alongside the rest of E’s school Valentines. Don’t be afraid to cut up memorabilia!
The second insert, a 6×12, focuses on little Jonas. It tells the story of his first word and paints a picture of what he’s like right now.
Turn the page one last time and there’s two more great stories!
The back of the second insert has photos from our day off on Friday. The journaling is pulled directly from this blog post.
The right page is a full 12×12 page. I like switching it up and putting 12x12s in every once in a while. It’s easier to get lots of tiny photos in. The subject is the super awesome Star Wars pizza pool party we went to for one of Eliza’s classmates Saturday.

That’s Week 7! I’m loving every single second of this process! Since I’m Week 7 and still going strong, I thinking for the first time that this is totally doable. And I’m not seeing it getting old any time soon.
