Eliza's Ornament a Day: Day 2

Just like last year, Eliza’s making an ornament every day until Christmas! Day 2 was an aluminum foil house, based on these ornaments.

Eliza's Ornament a Day: Day 2

The first step was to freehand a house on cardboard. We used a record album cover, because we’ve got those to spare.

We cut it out (Eliza needed help because the material was thick).

The house wasn’t quite thick enough, so we used it to trace two more onto the album cover. We cut those out too.

Glue stick! Stack ‘em.

Wrap the little house in aluminum foil. (This is the back; the front is smooth).

Take a stylus (or toothpick, or pencil, or whatever you have) and draw on your little house! Eliza drew a roof, windows, a door, and flowers in a front garden :)

Punch a hole in the top and stick some string through and you’ve got yourself an ornament! Quick, easy, cool. We love it. It looks super cool with the little white lights.

Do you make handmade ornaments for yourself or with your kids? If you have cool links, make sure to share them! We’re taking a “no reinventing the wheel” approach this year to make it stress free :)
