Are these the December Daily pages from a week ago? Why, yes they are. In case you haven’t read the other December Daily posts, I’ll let you in on this year’s plan: totally laid back. Our Etsy shop has caused things to get seriously crazy (good crazy, but crazy) around here, so I’m taking photos everyday, jotting down journaling every night, and scrapbooking in the album as I can.
For Day 4, I knew I’d be starting on the back of the right page from Day 3. I knew that this page is small and I had a lot of photos for the day, so I went with a small photo collage on the small left page and made a full page (8×8) photo collage for the right page. It ended up trimming down to a little smaller than 8×8, so I backed the collage with double sided patterned paper, which I’ll use for day 5.
I included the journaling for the “big story” of the day inside a vintage bridge card. The card opened like a little book. I put plain cream colored cardstock on the inside, typed up the journaling on the cardstock, and glued that back of the card onto the page.
This time, I typed up the journaling on my very favorite typewriter. It types in cursive, which is the coolest thing ever.
The big story of the day had to do with us buying our Christmas tree (which we just got lights on last night and still haven’t put ornaments on, by the way).
After these two photo collages were done, I didn’t have enough room for all of the “little stuff” journaling.
So I added a third page for today’s spread in the middle. I used a postcard by Franck Chimero that was included with a t-shirt we ordered in 2009 (which Jake is wearing in this photo… it’s one of his favorites). Whenever I find cool business cards or postcards, I save them. Even if I don’t find the perfect project for them for three years (hah!). There was plenty of room on the back of the postcard for journaling:
Here’s how the pages look in the album:
