If you celebrate, we hope your holiday was merry and bright! Ours was a whirlwind of family, parties, great food, good conversations, giggles and presents! We went to seven family gatherings between Thursday and Sunday! We’re glad to be taking it easy again.
You’ll see all the details of our Christmas escapades once I get the December Daily album updated, but we wanted to share a peak of our favorite part: Christmas morning.
This was the first Christmas that Eliza woke us up. We’ve always had to wake her. We had to wake Jonas up this Christmas though! Eliza had to wait a few long, excruciating minutes for Jonas to nurse and get changed before we let her open the door to downstairs to attack the presents.
Eliza opened the door to find a trail of… COMIC BOOKS!
Santa left a double wide trail of comics down the stairs all the way to the presents and stockings!
It will take us all year to read these.
Eliza was so so excited that Santa left her an Inkoo (a bear you can draw on and wash), the main thing she asked for. Santa also left Jonas an alien Inkoo (he’ll only play with it with supervision, we promise).
I’m going to be doing a lot of laundry; that thing gets full of drawings fast.
Poppy stopped by for a surprise visit just as the digging through the presents began.
Jonas found the only chocolate in the stockings. Santa mostly left granola bars, dried fruit bars, rasins, Cliff bars, etc., but Lindors are Jake’s favorite, so there were some in his stocking. Jonas has a knack for finding the one thing he can’t have.
He figured out how to open them and yelled in triumph.
When he thinks he’s not supposed to eat something, he puts it in his mouth in slow motion while looking directly at us. If we say anything, he either jumps and drops it or runs for it giggling. We got it from him before he devoured it and quickly distracted him with raisins, dried cranberries, and dried blueberries (yum!).
Jonas’s favorite part was the bows.
Eliza modeled them too.
After presents, we played hours of Monopoly, baked cookies and stuffed mushrooms and got ready for Christmas parties.
It was an amazing morning! How was yours?
P.S. The Christmas jammies are a tradition. Eliza and Jonas got to open them Christmas Eve.
