The cover for my Autumn Mini Book is in the bag.

Autumn 2011 Mini

I’m focusing on finishing up the summer book right now, but I like knowing that the base is here so I have somewhere to stash Autumn pages if I feel like working on them.

For the cover, I decided to focus on texture. I chose woodgrain, burlap, and notebook paper textures. What says autumn more that walks in the woods, trips to an apple orchard, and back-to-school? I am totally in love with the way it turned out.

I usually include base pages of patterned paper in the seasonal minis, but I’m leaving it wide open for now. I’m going to try a hybrid (part digital, part traditional) approach with this book. I’ll make a test page with cardstock so I know exactly how big each page should be, then I’ll make a template so I can print the base page/photos/journaling directly from my computer. I can then embellish the old fashioned way. Hopefully this will speed up the process since I’m attempting to include so much.
