We caught our cats spooning. Charcoal (the grown up) didn’t like little Ashes at first. Adult cats usually don’t like kittens. They’ve been used to each other for awhile, but have just recently started showing the love.

The little black and white guy is McClain. He is from the same litter as Ashes and lives next door with my best friend Justin. He comes over to play a lot. He doesn’t like to let Ashes snuggle. That’s when attack time is prime.

Which reminds me that I forgot to share a funny Eliza story. An awesome blogger, Kristen actually gave us the name Ash for the kitten in this post. We had to switch to Ashes because Eliza sounded like she was saying something profane. Hint: three letter word beginning with the letter “A”. She was telling everyone about her kitten and people would have to ask for clarification a billion times before they got that she was saying Ash. Once, someone asked her to spell what she was saying (obviously not thinking about the fact that she is four). Eliza said, “Oh, you spell it A-S-S!” I had to interject to explain, but I think that Eliza getting 2/3 of the letters correct by sounding it out is pretty impressive at her age. But how funny is that in context?
